THE BEST DUNKS OF 2011!
NBA All-Star Votes: Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant in the Lead
COVER OF NBA 2K12 REVEALED!
NBA 2K12 shows off their iconic covers
The view is mighty fine from the top for gaming company 2K Sports. After turning heads signing Michael Jordan to grace the cover and be involved in their vaunted NBA 2K series last year, they decided to take it further for the next installment. Not only will NBA 2K12, which will be released October 4th, 2011 (even if there isn’t a real NBA season), will have “His Airness” on the cover for a second straight year, but they will have two more covers featuring basketball legends Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.“Bringing Michael Jordan to the virtual hardwood last year was a huge success for NBA 2K11; however, we didn’t want to stop there,” said Jason Argent, VP of marketing for 2K Sports. “We’re bringing ‘His Airness’ back to the NBA 2K franchise as part of a multi-year extended partnership, along with two other legendary icons–Larry Bird and Magic Johnson–for a special cover athlete collection representing the NBA’s greatest heroes.”
Blue Ivy Carter is Youngest Person to Ever Appear on Billboard Chart
Featured on her daddy’s recently-released “Glory” track, which entered the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at No. 74, Blue Ivy makes chart history…
Blue Ivy Carter was born less than a week ago but she has already made chart history.
The daughter Jay-Z and Beyoncé birthed on Saturday (January 7) has become the youngest person to receive credit for a charting song, according to Billboard.com, as her wailing cries appear on Jay’s recently-released track “Glory.” Billed as “featuring B.I.C.,” the abbreviation of Blue’s full name, “Glory” entered the Jan. 21 R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at No. 74.
Jay-Z isn’t the first artist to feature his newborn on a track. Stevie Wonder had his daughter Aisha’s coos immortalized in his own “Isn’t She Lovely” song when she was born. But Blue Ivy Carter is considered the youngest because, 1. Aisha was never officially credited on “Lovely” and 2. the song did not reach a Billboard chart (Adult Contemporary at No. 23 on Jan. 29, 1977) until almost two years after her birth.
“Glory” arrives as the week’s highest new entry on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with 1.7 million audience impressions on 54 radio stations, according to Nielsen BDS. The cut also coincidentally marks Jay-Z’s 107th career entry on the survey, the same numbers as the Jan. 7 birth date of Blue Ivy.

50 Cent Tweets Mock Photo of Blue Ivy Carter
The rap mogul took to Twitter to post a mock photo of Jay-Z and Beyonce’s newborn daughter…

While the world awaits the first glimpse of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, one person in particular isn’t too concerned.

Lil Wayne To Release a Memoir
Gone Till November will be released on November 28 and will be a compilation of entries from a diary Lil Wayne kept during his jail stint…
Earlier this week, Lil Wayne expanded his brand by debuting his skateboard apparel clothing line, Trukfit. Now, Weezy plans on broadening his wordplay by becoming an author.
According to HipHopDX, Tunechi will be releasing his memoir, Gone Till November, on November 28 via Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group. The book will be a compilation of entries from a diary Wayne kept during his 2010, eight-month stint behind bars.
“We are thrilled to be publishing Wayne’s prison memoir,” said Ben Greenberg, executive editor at Grand Central Publishing. “He kept detailed journals of his inner and outer life while he was on Rikers Island, and they certainly tell a story. They are revealing.”
On Tuesday (January 10), Wayne made a surprise appearance at the 2012 Zumiez 100K event in Keystone, Colorado, where he gave a full presentation of Trukfit. While on stage, Weezy explained the name of the skateboard apparel, telling fans that as a kid he’d grab new gear from the back of a clothing booster truck, reports MTV.
“When a person could spot a fake, they’d be like you got on the truck fit,” he said, “So now it’s cool to have on the truckfit, ya dig!”
Wayne’s Trukfit line will be available at Zumiez retailers nationwide and will debut in New York at the end of the month during the Agenda trade show.

Man Convicted of Killing Friend of Juvenile Sentenced to Life in Prison
A man was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday (January 12) after an October conviction of the 2004 murder of a New Orleans resident and friend of Juvenile.According to NOLA.com, Charles Raymond was convicted of killing Nathaniel Robertson, a family friend of Juvenile’s, following an incident in which Raymond and friends wanted to jack Robertson for the car he was driving. The vehicle, a Hummer H2, actually belonged to Juvie’s brother and Robertson was said to be caring for it for the time being. The 37-year-old was shot by Raymond in the back five times and lost his life during the incident.
Reports say that witnesses testified that Raymond was not hush about what had gone down, as he bragged about the killing following a brief stint in jail.
Initially, Raymond, along with four other men, were arrested following the murder. However, things did not go as planned for the prosecution in state court, which triggered a federal investigation as the case fell apart at the local level.
In addition to Raymond, three other men will be serving time for their roles in the incident.
Juvenile’s upcoming album, Rejuvination, is tentatively slated for a January 17 release. The first single, “Power,” was released online in November, and is produced by Mannie Fresh and features Rick Ross. After cooking up heat for a number of years as the anchors of Cash Money, Juvie and Mannie reunited for the first time on wax in years on the single

Common Explains Where Beef With Drake Stems From
Common talks about beef with Drake and confirms that it isn’t over Serena Williams…
The battle between Drake and Common has been the talk of the blogosphere lately and with the latter’s recently released dis track over Rick Ross’ “Stay Schemin,” one has to wonder where the animosity stems from.
Last night, Common appeared on Sirius Hip-Hop Nation radio show on which he clarified the battle between he and Drake is not because of Serena Williams, instead, “I got in this because it’s hip-hop,” he explained. I was speaking up on the song ‘Sweet’ about, over and over we’re hearing a lot of singing,” he continued. “I listen to R&B, I listen to good R&B and soul music, so I’m not opposed to singing. I’ma be frank about that. But I just spoke up for the art of hip-hop and what I feel about it. Once he said something back, that’s when I said, ‘aight, I guess you want to get in a battle with me. And if that’s what you want, then I’ll battle.’
Common also professed that despite the battle, he didn’t intentionally mean to dis Drizzy on “Sweet.”
“I was like, ‘well, I wasn’t trying to address you specifically, but if you feel like you are that person and if you’re addressing this to me, then I have to address you back.’”
As of press time, Drake has yet to speak on the issue. Common’s The Dreamer, The Believer is available now.
