Despite declining numbers, President Barack Obama continues to be a favorite among Hollywood stars.
Diddy, Russell Simmons and new-mother Beyoncé are among the celebrities that have joined the “Runway to Win” fundraiser to help raise money for Obama’s re-election campaign, designing the likes of T-shirts, tote bags, scarves and bracelets. First Lady Michelle Obama favorite designer Jason Wu, as well as Rachel Roy, Narciso Rodriguez, Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg, rag & bone, Altuzarra, Alexander Wang, Tory Burch and Tracy Reese have also joined the cause.
While Diddy and Simmon’s shirts have not yet been revealed, Beyoncé’s white tee was designed in conjunction with her mother, Tina Knowles, and costs $45. The phrases “Yes We Can,” “Words do Inspire” and “Transform a Nation Together” randomly appear across the front of the shirts in different font sizes.
According to New York magazine, the fundraiser —basically the same thing as 2008′s “Runway to Change” campaign— is being helmed by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who will co-host an accompanying event in February with actress Scarlett Johansson. Merchandise will go on sale online at runwaytowin.com on February 7 with all proceeds going to the Obama Victory Fund
